This is included in the agreement
The four research funders, the Swedish Research Council, Forte, Formas, and Vinnova, have decided to jointly fund publishing with certain publishers that only publish fully open access journals. Funding applies to researchers who are linked to an organisation in the Bibsam consortium. This means that researchers at Umeå University can publish articles in the publishers' journals without having to pay a publishing fee (APC, article processing charge).

When submitting your manuscript, it is important that you use your email address ending with @umu.se (this confirms your affiliation with Umeå University). Next, follow these instructions:
- Select the option “I have a special agreement via direct contact with the journal prior to submission to receive a full or partial fee waiver for this submission.”
- In the field below, enter: “This paper will be covered by the National Library of Sweden institutional deposit.”
Once your article has been accepted, you will receive a notification with information about the publication cost covered by the funders. You will also receive a copy of the receipt.
