This is included in the agreement
The open access publishing fee (APC, article processing charge) has been pre-paid through an agreement between the library and the publisher. The agreement applies when the corresponding author (i.e., the one handling communication with the publisher and journal) is affiliated with Umeå University.
The agreement does not cover additional charges, such as page charges or charges for colour illustrations.
The agreement applies to articles accepted by the publisher in 2025 (“acceptance date” during 2025).
Journals and publication types
The agreement applies to open access publishing in both hybrid and open access journals of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Choice of licence
Articles covered by the agreement are published with a CC BY or CC BY-NC licence.
What you need to do
To be covered by the agreement, you must:
- be the corresponding author;
- state a correct affiliation to Umeå University in the manuscript;
- state Umeå University as your primary affiliation in the publisher (Editorial Manager) system; and
- use your University email ending with @umu.se.
Contact the library for guidance if you don't have an Umeå University email address.
Good to know about the publishing process
Once your article has been accepted for publication, you will receive an email from the publisher with a link to sign a “Licence to Publish” agreement, clearly stating that the cost of open access publication is covered by the agreement. You must select the option “select an open access licence” for the article to be published open access.
