I am Andrés Garrido, and I have been a member of Yuri Swartz’s lab since 2020. My research focuses on epigenetics, with a particular interest in how chromatin regulators control gene expression and maintain transcriptional states.
In my work, I investigate how Trithorax group and Polycomb group proteins control transcriptional states and contribute to the maintenance of cellular identity. To address these questions, I combine molecular and genetic approaches using both ๐๐ณ๐ฐ๐ด๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ช๐ญ๐ข cell culture systems and living ๐๐ณ๐ฐ๐ด๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ช๐ญ๐ข ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฐ๐จ๐ข๐ด๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ.
I am deeply fascinated by the mechanisms that govern epigenetic regulation and how they shape gene expression programs during development. Exploring these processes continues to inspire my work and motivates my research in the field.
