I am a licensed psychologist and a specialist in neuropsychology at the Memory Clinic at Sunderby Hospital in Luleå, as well as a doctoral student at the Department of Community Medicine and Rehabilitation at Umeå University.
My research project focuses on the role of executive functions in healthy aging. I am particularly interested in how these cognitive abilities—such as planning, impulse control, and mental flexibility—affect everyday challenges in older adults, including fear of falling and the experience of well-being. The project also explores how lifestyle factors, such as alcohol consumption in midlife, may influence executive functioning and the risk of developing dementia later in life.My ambition is to contribute knowledge that can be applied both in clinical practice and in preventive public health efforts. By understanding the connections between brain function, lifestyle, and psychological well-being, I hope to support initiatives that enhance quality of life and independence among older adults. As a doctoral student, I combine my clinical experience with research methodology to deepen our understanding of the neuropsychology of aging. I am driven by a desire to bridge the gap between research and practice, and to make scientific findings accessible and useful in people’s everyday lives.
