Teaching and Researching in the field of Exercise Physiology
Since 2025, I have been the Director of the School of Sport Sciences. Previously, I served as Head of the Section of Sports Medicine for ten years and as Deputy Head of the Department of Community Medicine and Rehabilitation for three years.
I teach exercise physiology at both undergraduate and advanced levels, with a particular focus on children and exercise, testing methodology, and muscle physiology.
My research focuses on the effects of exercise on hormonal and metabolic variables in children, as well as on the development and application of physiological tests to predict performance in elite athletes.
I earned my PhD in December 2012 from the University of Athens, Greece, in the field of molecular exercise physiology.
I teach exercise physiology at both undergraduate and advanced levels, with a particular focus on children and exercise, testing methodology, and muscle physiology. I am the course coordinator for the course "Field integrated Exercise Physiology for the Exercise Physiologist Programme" and supervise students at both bachelor's and master's levels.
I also serve as the internationalization contact person for the Exercise Physiology Programme, responsible for promoting international collaborations and student exchanges.
