My work explores how participation, gender, norms, and social interaction shape health outcomes. I focus on children and youth with cerebral palsy, examining their involvement in physical activity and physiotherapy, and how social categorization relates to participation and quality of life. I also study communication and participation among young powered wheelchair users, using registry data (e.g., CPUP), surveys, and interviews. Additionally, I investigate loneliness and social activity, currently among older adults, aiming to inform strategies such as social prescribing that can reduce isolation and promote wellbeing.
