My research focuses on how iron status influences health and performance across different populations and stages of life. I work with studies on iron status in children and mothers followed from pregnancy, adolescents, and elite athletes, as well as questions related to iron absorption and bioavailability from the diet.
I am interested in understanding how diet and physiology influence iron status and how this relates to health, cognition, and physical performance. I also work on related topics within nutrition and food processing.
I teach the master’s course Nutrition, Health and Sustainable Diets at Chalmers University of Technology.
I am also affiliated as a researcher with the Department of Life Sciences, Food and Nutrition Science, Chalmers University of Technology.
