My research focuses on the intersections of climate change, the built environment, and occupant behavior. I am particularly interested in understanding how climate change affects buildings and their occupants in "original cold but becoming warmer" regions like Nordic regions, with the aim of supporting more resilient, adaptive, and human-centered building transitions.
I am an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) at the Intelligent Human-Buildings Interaction Lab, Umeå University, and a Researcher in International Energy Agency IEA EBC Annex 95: Buildings under Changing Climate. I also serve as Secretary Chair of the International Conference on Construction and Real Estate Management (ICCREM).
In addition, I lead several research projects, e.g., Envisioning Urban Transitions—Creative Methods and Virtual Imaginative Futures for Real Community Empowerment and Co-learning for Building Sustainable and Resilient Cities, where I serve as Principal Investigator and WP4 Leader, funded by JPI Urban Europe (BTC-ENUTC).
