I am a physician specialized in Geriatric Medicine and a PhD student in Anne-Marie Fors Connolly lab. She is also my principal supervisor.
My doctoral research is based on nationwide registry data. The initial phase of the project involves the development and validation of a registry-based Disease Severity Index for older adults with COVID-19 and Influenza, alongside the creation of a registry-based Frailty Index.
In the subsequent phase, the project will focus on mapping pathogens causing severe infections in Sweden across different age groups. By integrating that knowledge with the Disease Severity Index and Frailty Index, the overarching aim is to identify population groups at increased risk of specific severe infections and to examine how frailty and disease severity influence infection outcomes. We hope that our findings can be useful for targeted preventive healthcare interventions on a population level.
