I am an Assistant Professor and researcher with a focus on behavioral and mental health, substance use, aging, and the organization of health and social care systems. Most of my work navigates how biopsychosocial factors, including structural and service-related factors, affect the mental health and wellbeing of individuals, especially older adults and those affected by substance use problems.
My current research work and interest include studies on mental health, alcohol and substance use, treatment and recovery among older adults, as well as integrated models of mental health and addiction care. I also work on the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational interventions for social workers with the aim of improving evidence-based client work. Across these projects, I maintain a strong interest in person-centered and recovery-oriented approaches within social and healthcare systems.
I hold a PhD in Social Work and Master of Science in Public Health from Umeå University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Dietetics and Nutrition from Harokopio University in Athens, Greece.
