Applications for courses within a study programme

If you are enrolled in a study programme you will take a number of courses pre-chosen for the programme. Either the department responsible (generally the programme study counsellor) makes an order for which courses you should study the next term, a so-called group application; or you choose among the courses available in the study program, the so-called elective courses. Your department will provide you with the information you need before the closing date for applications.

If you are taking required courses ("group application")

Log in via Umeå University with your Umu-id at Universityadmissions.se and check to see that the courses you are going to study can be found in your application. Remember that the total number of study credits does not need to be 30 ECTS (HE credits). You may be continuing studying courses that you registered for in the previous term that are taught for longer periods than one term. The courses that should be in your application are only those starting the coming term. If the wrong course or courses appears in your application or if you do not have an application for the next term you must contact your programme study counsellor.

Remember that if you want to study an extra course you can take this opportunity now and give it priority along with your programme courses. You can be accepted to maximum 45 ECTS (HE credits).

If you are going to make your own choice of study programme courses

Log in via Umeå University with your Umu-id at Universityadmissions.se. This is required in order for programme students to see courses available to apply for within the study programme. If you do not see the courses, you must contact your programme study counsellor for more information.

Remember that if you want to study an extra course you can take this opportunity now and give it priority along with your programme courses. You can be accepted to maximum 45 ECTS (HE credits).

Instructions for applying for programme courses

Accepting an offer in the online notification

Do not forget to reply to an offer in the online notification you receive in the middle of July and the middle of December. The computer system does not automatically register an acceptance and if you do not give a 'yes' answer, you will not be admitted to the course. This also applies to those included in a group application. If this happens, you shall contact your programme study counsellor and ask if you can still be admitted to the course. The Notification of selection status is sent via e-mail or regular mail depending on the means of communication that is indicated in your profile.
