Turid Bachmann

The sculptures are inspired by prosthetics, specifically prosthetic arms, finely carved wooden hands that mimic something lost, a part of oneself, with soft bands that fasten around the body. In my work I want to give the branches their unique shapes back, to mimic something that existed, giving back a severed branch.
