Traveling to Umeå
Train: We encourage traveling by train — even though we know that will take a fair amount of time. Train between Stockholm and Umeå takes some 6 hours if you travel by day, and some 9-10 hours if you take the night train option. SJ: train ticket bookings in Sweden (and beyond).
Flights: If you travel by airplane, you will need to transfer in Stockholm — no matter where you fly from. There are two companies that fly to Umeå: SAS and Norwegian. Umeå Airport is conveniently close to the Umeå city centre, and transfer only takes around 10 minutes.
Ferry: Should your travel route go through Finland, there is also the option of taking the ferry between Vasa and Umeå.
