The Unit of Police Work is an interdisciplinary unit with strong collaborative links both across the university and with external partners.
Collaboration takes place continuously with various departments and units across Umeå University. Students at the Police Programme collaborate with students from the Department of Psychology during their first semester and with students from the Social Work Programme during their third semester.
Externally, the Unit of Police Work collaborates with the Swedish Police Authority and its regions (the commissioning authority), Umeå Municipality through social services and schools, and Region Västerbotten.
Police education providers at Linnaeus University, Södertörn University, Malmö University, and the University of Borås are natural partners for collaboration within Sweden. The programme also participates in Nordcop, the Nordic student exchange programme.
We provide continuing education and professional development for both public authorities and private-sector organisations.
