Scientific Prize in Memory of Dieter K. Müller

Umeå University’s Scientific Prize in Memory of Dieter K. Müller recognises individuals who strengthen the role of science in society.

The prize may be awarded to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to developing, communicating or applying scientific knowledge with a clear impact on society. Particular emphasis is placed on contributions to sustainable development, preferably with relevance to northern Sweden, and on efforts that strengthen public trust in evidence-based knowledge.

The prize was established in memory of Professor Dieter K. Müller, whose work made a major contribution to research, internationalisation and collaboration between academia and society. The prize is worth SEK 100,000 and is awarded annually. A lecture by the prize recipient is also arranged in connection with the award ceremony.
