Research at the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics

We have around 80 active scientists at all levels from PhD students to postdocs, assistant professors, senior lecturers, and full professors. We mainly conduct research in six complementary research domains.

Our research domains

The daily work is carried out within one or several of our research groups. For example, we have innovative research groups in

Geometric Deep Learning
Group theory

In addition to the research domains above, individual researchers are also working in mathematical didactics at Umeå Mathematics Education Research Centre (UMERC).
