The course treats basic image capturing methods, perceptual organization, depth and categorization. Furthermore, the course deals with visual perceptual learning, attention and gaze control.

Expected learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding
After the course, the student should:

* have knowledge about the human ability to perceive recognize, remember and imagine objects and scenes
* have knowledge about different theories on perception and an understanding for applications of these theories on artificial systems
* Knowledge about machine vision techniques to capture, analyze and use visual information

Skills and ability
After the course, the student should:

* have the ability to apply and integrate this knowledge in a project.
* have the ability to communicate the project results in written and oral presentation

Evaluation ability and approach
After the course, the student should:

* have a deeper understanding for cognitive science methods

Required Knowledge

90 credits in the subject area of cognitive science or equivalent. These 90 credits should include the following courses:
Logic and Formal Methods, 7.5 hp, Cognitive Psychology, 7.5, Programming in Python, 7.5 hp and Application
