The Doctoral Student and Supervisor Day will take place on June 11

Topic: The Path to Becoming an Independent Researcher.

All doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows and supervisors at the Faculty of Science and Technology are welcome to participate. The day will be divided into a morning session for PhD students (open to postdocs) and an afternoon session for supervisors and those planning to become supervisors soon, with a shared lunch in between.

Kay Guccione (University of Glasgow), editor of the research culture and researcher development blog The Auditorium, and The Supervising PhDs blog will provide food for thought to initiate the discussions. See below for more information.

Morning session (doctoral students): 9–11:45

Lunch: 12–13

Afternoon session (supervisors): 13–16
