Time Friday 13 January, 2023 at 13:00 - 15:00
Place The Technology Building, room TB316

During this seminar, you will get both information and a chance to air your thoughts about the new Arctic Center of Energy (ACE), an ambitious investment in a competence center that aims to accelerate society's sustainable energy transition.

Construction of the physical environment on Campus Skellefteå begins this spring. By offering various forms of education, lab and research environments, the hope is both to contribute to the supply of skills here in the north and to spread knowledge that can help society make a sustainable transition.

Do you want to know more about ACE?

During this seminar, we will be visited by Margareta Ring Groth and Robert Brännlund from Luleå University of Technology. They will inform about ACE, as well as how and why LTU has chosen to be part of this venture together with Northvolt, RISE, Skellefteå Kraft and Skellefteå Municipality.

Discuss Umeå University's possible involvement

Next, together with you who are researchers and/or teachers, we want to discuss whether we at Umeå University should also get involved in ACE. What opportunities and challenges do you think the competence center can pose for research and education?
