Welcome to an open lunch seminar that explores the question, “How can departments translate sustainability ambitions into concrete everyday practices?” The Department of Ecology, Environment and Geoscience (EMG) will present its newly developed draft of an environmental policy and the process behind it.
Tom Korsman will introduce the department’s environmental group and discuss the development of the policy, its content, and the reasoning behind it. Göran Englund will present the travel related aspects and approaches for reducing emissions from academic travel.
The seminar is held in English and will conclude with an open discussion on sustainability transitions within academia.
A limited number of vegetarian lunches will be available from 11:30. These will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
The seminar is open to everyone at Umeå University and to the public.
