Connecting with companies and organisations can bring new ideas and perspectives for future research, create opportunities for knowledge exchange, and support data collection and the sharing of research findings. In many cases, these relationships also play an important role in securing research funding from national and international funders.

Need some tips on how to get started? Then this event is for you!

We will explore questions such as:

  • How can you begin building your network?
  • Who should you connect with, and how do you find the right contacts?
  • What might potential partners want to know about you and your research?
  • How can you maintain your contacts and networks in a way that is sustainable over time?

Learn from colleagues

Two researchers from Umeå University will share their experiences of working with external partners in research projects:

  • Patrik Rydén, Professor at the Department of Mathematical Statistics and Director of the Industrial Doctoral School for Research and Innovation
  • Linda Richter Sundberg, Associate Professor of Public Health Sciences and Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at the Department of Psychology

This will be followed by an open and informal discussion focusing on lessons learned, challenges and ideas.

The event is aimed at researchers and doctoral students who want to build their networks and develop new external contacts, as well as those with valuable experience to share.
