Negotiating Space for Adaptation: Reindeer herders facing conflict in the context of climate change and expanding land use
The seminar is held by Fabio König and based on his master’s thesis on how Sámi reindeer herders in Gran sameby experience climate change and increasing land use conflicts. Drawing on qualitative interviews, the study examines how current governance and consultation practices shape the space for adaptation, with particular attention to influence, recognition, and long-term relationships.
Fabio König is Project Assistant at the Department of Political Science at UmU and affiliated with the SATOCONN project.
This is a hybrid seminar, and anyone interested is welcome to participate at Várdduo in the Fatmomakke meeting room or via Zoom. If you would like to participate via Zoom, please register below. A link will be sent out the day before the seminar.
