Every autumn, a conference on Cognitive Science (Umeå Cognitive Science Day, UCSD) is organized by the program committees for the Cognitive Science programs at Umeå university, and the Department of Psychology, with inspirational lectures for all students, alumni, faculty and others who are interested in Cognitive Science.

13:20 - 14:00 ”Contributions to a cognitive science of smell”

Jonas Olofsson, professor at Department of Psychology, Stockholm University and alumni from the CogSci master’s program in Umeå.

14:00 - 14:30 "Neurocognitive investigations of intertemporal choice"

Eleni Kapetaniou, PhD-student, Department of General and Experimental Psychology, Ludwig-Maximilians Universität, Munchen and alumni from the CogSci master’s program in Umeå.

Short break

14:50 - 15:20 ”Why do we need cognitive scientists when we digitalize society?”

Karin Wikgren, Unit manager, Digital office, Skellefteå municipality and alumni from the CogSci bachelors program in Umeå.
