Humlab welcomes applications with proposals for pilot projects related to the Digital Humanities. Successful applications will receive technical support, methodological guidance, and access to computational resources for exploratory small-scale projects.
This call is open to all employees at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Project proposals that aim at external research applications or at teaching collaborations will be given priority.
Application details 2026
3-5 applications will be granted assistance by Humlab’s team of system developers. Under the headline Areas of expertise, you will find a list of what Humlab can help with. You can also contact Roger Mähler for questions about available competencies.
If you are applying for a group project, you can include applicants from other faculties, as long as the main applicant is employed at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the project has a focus on Digital Humanities.
Applications shall include a project plan of a maximum of 4 pages that specifies:
the aim and purpose of the project
the primary data you will be using
the methods, tools or technology you plan to use
the expected outcome(s) of the project
possible outcomes after the pilot (application to external funding agencies, course, workshop, etc).
Please also include a short CV and, if relevant, a brief description of the research group.
If the project requires ethical approval, you should have received a positive decision for the Swedish Ethical Review Authority prior to submitting your application for a pilot project.
Please ensure that your head of department/director is informed of your application and in agreement with it.
Applications will be assessed by Humlab’s management group and selection will be based on feasibility, originality and infrastructural relevance. Selected applicants will be invited to a first meeting to ensure a mutual understanding of expected outcomes and agree on a schedule.
