Funding

How much money is needed to implement the project? How much resources can the partners contribute? What is co-financing, and what does it look like? What external funding can be sought and when?

Is external co-financing necessary?

Co-financing can involve both the financial and human resources used to achieve the project objectives. Some programmes may require co-financing from a specific sector (private or public), even though they are not explicit project partners. In other programmes, only certain types of contribution count as co-financing. It is important to read the programme instructions carefully to prepare yourself at an early stage.

How to know whether your idea has the potential to receive project funding?

It is difficult to determine how an application stands up to competition from others.
1.  The first step is to consider what impact the project can have. If it can make a big impact in the field, it should have good potential to get funding.

2.  Is there a call for proposals that seems promising for the idea? Look at previously approved projects. This can give you an idea of what is required for a successful application, as well as whether the idea fits the specific call/programme.
