IKSU, the largest sport and fitness facility in northern Europe, has reached a new record of registered members. At IKSU sport, adjacent to Campus Umeå, membership has reached 15,613 (the previous high was 15,558 members) and the total number of members at the IKSU spa facility has reached 17,870 (previous high was 17,815 members).
"It’s wonderful that so many have chosen to invest in their own health. We are pleased that we’re able to inspire and motivate so many Umeå residents to exercise. We have also noticed this autumn that our members are exercising more often and are booking times for more activities than ever before, which is very satisfying," says Andreas Christiansen, Sales and Marketing Manager at IKSU.
IKSU (Swedish: Idrottsklubben Studenterna i Umeå) is a sports association in which was established by students in 1959. They offer sports, fitness, exercise, and outdoor recreational activities for members. IKSU has two facilities in Umeå, IKSU sport nearby Umeå University’s main campus, and IKSU spa in the Umedalen district of the city. IKSU sport is the largest fitness facility in northern Europe with 23,000 m² of space.
