Call for Proposals: MIRAI Research and Innovation Week 2026 in Japan

Researchers at Umeå University are invited to submit proposals for the MIRAI Research & Innovation Week, which will take place in Fukuoka, Japan, on 8–11 December 2026.
Application deadline: 15 July 2026 (23:59, Japanese Standard Time) Notification of results: Early August 2026 (week of 3 August)
All academics from a MIRAI university can submit a proposal. There are several formats available (ex/host a workshop, give a presentation, run a round table discussion).
The topic of your proposal can be narrow in scope, or wider, you decide, but should keep within the four academic focus areas of MIRAI. The sessions selected will be available in parallel on day 2 and 3 (Wed and Thurs) of the conference.
How to Apply
Please submit a brief proposal including:
Session title
Proposed format and duration (30 or 60 minutes)
Short description (max. 150–200 words)
Names and affiliations of organizers (at least one from Sweden and one from Japan)
Any additional relevant merits (if applicable)
Application deadline: 15 July 2026 The notification of results is expected in early August 2026 (week of 3 August), depending on the number of proposals received by the initial deadline.
