NEWS This year, Walpurgis Eve on Campus (Swedish: Valborg on campus) celebrates its fifth time on campus, and the main event will be the Umeå band Deportees. The band has been praised by both critics and audiences for their most recent album "Under the pavement - The beach."
Deportees were also named the Pop of the Year band at the P3 Gold Awards earlier this year and were also nominated for a Grammy in the Year’s composer category.
Culture on Campus is responsible for the stage and artists at Walpurgis Eve on Campus.
"We follow our traditions and top off Walpurgis Eve with a really good local band," says Jonas Ericson, project manager for Culture on Campus, who looks forward to a record number of visitors on 30 April.
"Last year, David Sandström Overdrive played for about 8,000 spectators. I hope for an equally strong turnout this year!"
Walpurgis Eve on Campus is arranged by Umeå University, Umeå Municipality and Akademiska Hus.
