Eva Ahl-Waris is a guest researcher at USSTE during the spring semester of 2013

During this spring semester Eva Ahl-Waris will be visiting researcher at the Department of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies and the research team Umeå Studies in Science, Technology and Environment (USSTE). She is a postdoctoral researcher in History of Science and Ideas and her current research focuses on history of archeology and medieval history in Finland and Sweden.
Eva Ahl-Waris did her PhD in European History at the University of Helsinki in 2010. The title of her dissertation is Historiebruk kring Nådendal och den kommemorativa anatomin av klostrets minnesplats (Vadstena: Societas Sanctae Birgittae, 2010). She has been a post doc scholar since 2011. Her work as a postdoc at Umeå University and Umeå Studies in Science, Technology and Environment (USSTE) is financed by the research foundation Niilo Helanderin Säätiö.
Ahl-Waris is currently working on the history of archaeology and medieval history in Finland and Sweden. Her research is focused on the interest for medieval monasteries in both countries and its possible connection to nation-building.
