Researches how messages are communicated in climate change videos

NEWS Jeanette Littlemore, professor of English Language and Applied Linguistics at the University of Birmingham, is visiting the Department of Language Studies.

– I am here to study how messages are communicated in videos regarding climate change. My main research interest is the use of metaphors to understand emotional experiences, says Jeanette.

During her one-week stay Jeanette is working in a research project with professor Marlene Johansson Falck and associate professor Anders Steinvall. In addition, she has also held a workshop for doctoral students, a presentation at the Linguistics higher seminar, and will be giving a talk for students in applied linguistics.
