Hundreds of international students arrive for the spring 2011 term

Umeå University is awaiting the arrival new exchange students for the beginning of the spring 2011 academic term on Monday 17 January. More than 200 new exchange students from 33 countries will begin their studies next week.
In total, approximately 400 exchange students will be studying at Umeå University during the spring 2011 academic term, including approximately 200 that are continuing their studies from the autumn 2010 term. Furthermore, a significant number international students arriving outside of exchange agreements, including those enrolled in master’s degree programs and individual courses with English language instruction, will be starting or continuing their studies at Umeå University.
Starting on Monday January 17th, a six day Orientation Course for international students will be held to give an introduction to studies and activities at Umeå University and life in the city of Umeå.
Spring 2011 students arriving on exchange agreements are from the following countries:
