Joint NatMEG / StratNeuro symposium and workshop “Machine learning for functional brain imaging”, January 19-20 2017.

SymposiumThe symposium will take place on January 19 and will consist of an introduction to machine learning for functional brain imaging followed by a series of lectures illustrating the applications of machine learning for MEG and fMRI. Confirmed speakers are:- Alexandre Gramfort, Telecom ParisTech, Paris, France- Marcel van Gerven, Radboud University, Nijmegen, Netherlands- Radoslaw Cichy, Free University Berlin, Berlin, Germany- Lauri Parkkonen, Aalto University, Espoo, Finland
- Additional invited and local speakers to be confirmed.

Workshop
On January 20, we offer hands-on machine learning tutorials for MEG and fMRI using Python (MNE Python and Nilearn).

Teachers:- Alexandre Gramfort, Telecom ParisTech, Paris, France - MEG - MNE Python.
- Gaël Varoquaux, INRIA, CEA, Université Paris-Saclay, Paris, France - fMRI – Nilearn.

Note that bringing your own laptop, pre-installing relevant software, and downloading sample data in advance will be required.

Terms
The workshop is supported by Swedish Bioimaging, StratNeuro and NatMEG, and is free of charge, but the number of available places is limited. For this reason, please note that you are registered only when your registration has been confirmed by email from us.

Travel grants
Via support from Swedish Bioimaging, we can offer some travel grants to attendees. To qualify for this, attendees must be affiliated to a Swedish university and travel to the workshop from outside of Stockholm, but from within Sweden. To apply, please write us an email (same address as above), including information about your home university affiliation, including estimated ticket and accommodation costs. If approved, your ticket and accommodation costs will be reimbursed upon delivery of original receipts.
