Participate in the nomination of Deputy-Vice Chancellor

NEWS Professor Heidi Hansson’s term of office as Deputy Vice-Chancellor ends on 30 June 2022 and she has notified the Vice-Chancellor that she will not be at disposal for another term. The Vice-Chancellor will appoint a new Deputy Vice-Chancellor with responsibility for first- and second-cycle education for the period 1 July 2022 until 30 Juni 2025.

Who may nominate?

Students, teachers and other employees at Umeå University now have the opportunity to nominate candidates for the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor with responsibility for first- and second-cycle education.

What the assignment entails

The assignment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor is to, following the Vision for Umeå University, promote collaborative development of knowledge in which the University's research and education mutually strengthen each another.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor leads the strategic council for first- and second-cycle education and represents the University nationally and internationally in educational issues. Some issues currently on the agenda are lifelong learning, regional development and digitalisation.

Who can be nominated?

To be eligible for nomination, the person must

  • Be a professor or associate professor
  • Have a permanent contract at Umeå University
  • Have experience of academic leadership assignments

The Vice-Chancellor particularly encourages the nomination of women to ensure an equal gender distribution in the University Management.
