Photography by Stéphane Couturier at Bildmuseet

NEWS On Sunday November 24 at 14:00 Bildmuseet opens an exhibition with French photographer Stéphane Couturiers. His series Melting Point consists of sized photographs of architecture in Brasilia, Barcelona, Havanna and Chandigarh.

Welcome to a press preview of the exhibition on Thursday 21 at 10:00 and meet Stéphane Couturier. The artist will also be present at the opening.

Stéphane Couturier has been photographing buildings in major cities since the early 1990s. The exhibition at Bildmuseet presents works from his latest series Melting Point; photographs from Chandigarh, Brasilia, Barcelona and Havanna where, through a precise procedure, two negatives have been merged to form one image. The result gives the illusion of entirely new and fantastic architectonic bodies and volumes.

Stéphane Couturier (b. 1957) lives and works in Paris. His images have been exhibited worldwide, for instance at the International Center of Photography in New York, Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, Tinglado 2 in Tarragona, Spain and Ursula Blickle Foundation in Kraichtal, Germany.
