Professor Lettice Kinunda-Rutashobya Honorary Doctor at Umeå University
Professor Rutashobya is presently Professor of Business and Management at the University of Dar es Salaam Business School (UDBS). Professor Rutashobya has held several senior positions at University of Dar es Salaam, among other things, she was Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management between 1994 and 2000. In addition, she has held academic positions in international organizations such as the International Academy of African Business and Development.
Umeå School of Business and Economics has had a long and successful partnership with the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (UDSM), both in terms of SIDA-funded doctoral programs, joint research projects and post-doctoral projects. As a result of this collaboration professor Rutashobya was appointed as Honorary Doctor at the Social Science Faculty at Umeå University in 2004.
Professor Rutashobya’s research has mainly focused on women's entrepreneurship, strategic management, the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) in business development and growth in developing countries, and internationalization through networks and value chains.
