Scavenger hunt led to high-flying prize

NEWS On Wednesday 16 September, Umeå University’s 50th anniversary celebration contest was held in which five prizes were hidden in different areas of the campuses in Umeå. The contest was open for all, but students dominated the winner’s circle.

The prizes were well-hidden and could be located with help from clues that were announced during the afternoon. What mattered most was to react quickly! Several of the hidden prizes were found after only several minutes.

The first clue was read aloud before a packed audience at the conclusion of a Culture on Campus event with Olof Wretling and Jakob Nyström, and the prize was found only moments later by the Northern Lights sculpture beside the campus pond. The other prize locations were posted as photo clues on the university’s official Instagram account. At the end of the day, five participants won the chance to experience a hot-air balloon ride over Umeå.

The lucky winners are:

Nils Hansson Wikström - studentHugo Alfredsson - studentMartin Bergman - studentChristiane Funk - professor
Josefin Gustafsson - student

The balloon flight will take place on Wednesday 21 October, if weather conditions are favourable.
