Think and Aktum – in Swedish Publishing Prize final round

NEWS Umeå University has two productions that have made it to the final round of the Swedish Publishing Prize 2014. The employee magazine Aktum and Think magazine have a chance to take home the prestigious award.

The Swedish Publishing Prize (Svenska Publishingpriset) is Sweden's biggest competition for for newspapers, magazines websites, books and other printed products. The competition is fierce, as the prize attracts several hundred nominees every year.

"We have been reviewed by a highly respected independent jury that has selected our publications among the best in the country," said Ulrika Frick Lang, Head of the Communication and International Relations Office at Umeå University. "It feels great to be nominated. If everything goes well, we can take home two prizes."

Aktum is nominated in the employee/staff magazine category and Think is nominated in the business magazine category. The best entry in each category will wins a large statuette. All finalists and winners will also receive a diploma.

Aktum has previously won the Swedish Publishing Prize in 2012. In addition, Think magazine and the 2012-2013 courses and programmes catalogue had 2nd place results in their respective categories. The Aktum online website - which is a supplement to the printed product - was nominated in 2013.

The prize has been conferred annually since 1990 by the journal Populär Kommunikation (Popular Communications). The winners will be announced on 6 October at a gala evening in Stockholm.
