NEWS Starting on 8 May, exhibitions from graduating students at the Umeå Academy of Arts will be on display at Bildmuseet. This year's master’s exhibition features degree project artwork - painting, drawing, photography, performance, installation and video works. The bachelor's exhibition will be displayed simultaneously in Galleri 60.

Making Public
Master’s Programme of Fine Arts, degree project exhibition 2010

Featuring: Rasmus Albertsen, Tommy Andersson, Josef Daagarsson, Altansukh Demberel, Henrik Ekesiöö, Elisabeth Frieberg, Ida Hansson, Therese Johansson, Tina Lindberg, Fredrik Nyberg, Camilla Påhlsson, Nils Johan Sjöquist, Per-Arne Sträng, Ylva Westerhult and Martina Wolgast.
Since September 2009, the master’s students have been working on their degree project exhibition under the guidance of curator Adnan Yıldız and professor Florian Zeyfang. Based on the French philosopher and sociologist Bruno Latour’s research and writings on the theme of "making things public", students have examined the artistic process, from creation in the studio for a presentation in the exhibition.

When the exhibition opens on Saturday 8 May, Ida Hansson will perform “How Lovely to Be a Woman” at 1:30 pm in the Helena Elisabeth Church. Throughout the exhibition run, visitors will be able to reserve times for discussions with some of the artists, within the interactive nature of the project Art Dates.

The exhibition runs between 8 and 23 May 2010.
