Umeå students met thousands of future students in Gothenburg and Stockholm
NEWS
In November, pupils from upper-secondary schools in southern Sweden had the opportunity to meet student ambassadors from Umeå University study programmes at the Higher Education Fairs in Gothenburg and Stockholm. Our students answered queries and contributed with their experience. This spring the group will tour the north of Sweden.
A closely knit group of student ambassadors with varied backgrounds from various study programmes represented Umeå University at the fairs and answered the visitors' questions. Study advisers were also present to provide more information on admission and selection.

The personal encounters at the Higher Education Fairs are key to success. Getting the chance to meet a student who has faced the same type of choices and queries is very appreciated by the visitors. The student ambassadors had the opportunity to talk to almost 4,000 students over the course of the fairs.
"It's fun to help and share everything I find positive about Umeå," says Moa Carlsson Gustavsson, student at the Culture Analysis Programme. So, how is Umeå for students?
Not only questions about study programmes are important in choosing study location. The city, accommodation and everything around it also needs to feel right. Therefore, the student ambassadors get many questions about Umeå as a student city, ease of finding accommodation and how far north Umeå really is situated. These questions are something the student ambassadors are keen on sharing their experiences of.
