Umeå University among world's best in several subjects

Four subject areas at Umeå University are listed among the top 200 universities in the world according to the newly published QS World University Rankings by Subject 2014. The individual subjects include environmental studies, geography, psychology and sociology.
Umeå University retains last year's subjects of sociology, geography and environmental studies. This year, psychology made the top list of top 151-200 universities in the world. Biological sciences and medicine also received high scores although just missing the top 200 list.

This is the fourth year in which the QS World University Rankings by Subject has been published. In total, 30 individual subjects at more than 3,000 of the world's top universities were highlighted. The rankings are based on research citations, as well as academic and employer reputation.
