NEWS
Culture on Campus will be the tenants in the Glass House in Umeå's Town Hall Square (Rådhustorget) on Monday 23 May through Saturday 28 May. In addition to artists and culture, Umeå University will be displaying other aspects of its vast organization. Study guidance and research lectures will be among the featured activities
On Monday 23 May at 12 noon, the week will kick off with a Credo talk by Walter Unterranier, professor at the Umeå School of Architecture. The Credo talks are 2 to 3 minutes long and concern people´s visions, ideas or thoughts—something they want, hope for or believe about Umeå, the future and about Umeå 2014. Acclaimed singer Frida Selander will perform afterwards.
Frida surfaced in 2006 with “Be the knight”, an ambitious 11-song record. It was well-received, one reviewer wrote: “Frida is all set to shake your foundations”, and another: “The closest thing in Sweden to PJ Harvey or Patti Smith”, also: “An artist that has set her own course with intelligent lyrics, refined musical craftmanship and a distinctive, bewitching voice.”
