Umeå University delegation attends student recruitment fairs in Turkey

Umeå University is participating in the International Education Fairs of Turkey (IEFT) tour for the first time during 5-16 April. It is a university wide endeavour with representatives from all four faculties and with three Turkish students represented - two of which are travelling with the delegation as student ambassadors. The third will be representing a faculty.
The Turkish students will hold seminars in the country's largest cities of Ankara, Izmir and Istanbul titled: "Studying and Living in Northern Sweden through the Eyes of Umeå University's Turkish Students.” The seminars will be held in Turkish.
"It's exciting to partake in an event like this where our faculties and students are all working together to make it a successful project. We're particularly proud to be able to bring with us our Turkish student ambassadors who are all terrific representatives for Umeå University," says Kristina Sehlin MacNeil, Project Manager for International Information and Marketing.
Hundreds of international students, including those from Turkey, are enrolled in two-year master’s degree programmes with English language instruction at Umeå University. In addition, 40 Turkish students have attended on exchange agreements to study during the 2010-2011 academic year.
"Umeå University has experienced an increase in Turkish students over the last few years and we're very happy to see that most of them are very successful and also actively take part in campus life. For these reasons Turkey is an interesting country for Umeå University to promote itself it," continues Kristina Sehlin MacNeil.
An event has been created on the official Umeå University Facebook page in which Turkish students can post comments, photos and films, in addition to asking questions about Umeå University.
