Saturday 8 November marks the launch of Umeå University’s new web site. The first phase of our new face includes the release of central level pages in English as well as Swedish.
With a fresh design, new graphic elements and new navigation and structure the new web site enables our visitors to easily find the information that they seek. Umeå University’s new web site is constructed to fit within the framework of ”the 24 hours web” (24-timmarswebben) and other international standards for accessibility.
The First Phase
By central level pages we mean the web pages that contain overarching information about Education, Research, Umeå University and Umeå – these four categories have each received a tab placed within the new top header.
As a visitor, surfing the new web site, you will notice that much is new but also that we still have a bit of work to do. In the next phase, starting in the new year, departments, schools and faculties will add their information and appear within the new structure.
Don’t Panic!
We are certain that you will enjoy Umeå University’s new website. However, there will be a few initial bumps and glitches to get over. During this first phase you might encounter faulty links and you will occasionally end up on Umeå University’s old website. We would like to ask you to be patient, to keep enjoying the new pages and remember - there is still much more to come!
