Cognition

Research group The department of psychology features a wide range of research within the cognition profile. It includes time perception and behavior amongst both children and adults, intelligence, musicality, and musical experience, how people react to auditory warning signals in the workplace, motor control in sports training, test effects on learning, reading and dyslexia, working memory training, and changes in cognitive abilities related to ageing and dementia.

Research on cognition is often cross-disciplinary. Cognitive science combines different disciplinary perspectives on thinking from psychology, computer science, philosophy, linguistics, and neuroscience.

The department of psychology gives courses within many strands of cognitive psychology within the Bachelor- and Masters programs in Cognitive science, Psychology, Occupational Health and the Physical Trainer Program. Cognition is also taught in several courses on basic and advanced level, the advanced level courses being given in English.
