Research group Malin L. Nording lab combines advanced mass spectrometry and metabolomics to better understand human health and disease. By linking molecular data to real-world clinical challenges, their work helps pave the way for more personalised diagnostics and treatments, with applications ranging from inflammation and pain to pregnancy-related disorders.
The Hyperemesis Or nausea in PrEgnancy (HOPE) study was established in 2019 as a collaboration between researchers at Umeå University, Norrland’s University Hospital (Region Västerbotten) and Örnsköldsvik’s Hospital (Region Västernorrland). The network is interdisciplinary and the research includes register studies, interviews and studies of biomarkers to create better conditions for adequate care and in the long run a cure for severe nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.
PREGURINE: Biomarkers in blood and urine at pregnancy in dogs
The project aims to study differences in blood and urine between bitches that are and that are not pregnant to assess if there are markers in blood and/or urine that can be used for pregnancy diagnosis.
