To follow, analyse and support pupils' mathematical development.

PhD project The link between informal and formal mathematics is a critical factor in mathematics development. It is therefore important to strengthen the knowledge of preschool-class mathematics education.

The starting point is my earlier licentiate thesis in which I have shown that preschool-class teachers' ability to follow and analyse pupils' abilities and skills in mathematics improved by working consciously and systematically with number sense and reasoning.

Now I do a follow up of the pupils' mathematics knowledge (NP grade 3) and examines whether early identification has helped the pupils in their mathematical development.
