The Industrial Doctoral School for Research and Innovation at Umeå University announces doctoral funding for projects carried out in collaboration with external organisations, such as businesses, the public sector, and non-profit organisations.
The doctoral student's salary costs are equally shared between the Industrial Doctoral School and the external organisation. By participating in the Industrial Doctoral School, you expand your network within and beyond the University, and the collaboration makes your research more relevant, applicable and attractive for external funding.
All university staff who are eligible to serve as the main supervisor of a doctoral student are welcome to apply. Applications are open to all faculties and research areas.

About the Industrial Doctoral School
The Industrial Doctoral School for Research and Innovation creates opportunities for collaboration between researchers at Umeå University, business and the public sector through jointly funded research projects. Together with an external partner, the doctoral student and supervising researcher work for four years with a common problem that needs to be explored. We have trained almost 100 researchers together with more than 70 external partners.
