I am associate professor in Sociology and works as head the department at Umeå Centre for Gender studies. My research interests involves gender- organization and leadership theory.
I am an associate professor in Sociology and employed as a senior lecturer. I work as head the department at Umeå Centre for Gender studies (USGS). My main research interest is within the field of work life research with focus on gender- organization and leadership theory. Currently, I work as a project leader for two research projects. The first; Fit for fight? A study of conflict and mental health in women dominated work place from a gender perspective, scrutinizes the relationship between perceived conflicts, gender and well-being which can be explained by differences in working environment and conditions. Given that both managers and employees spend a large amount of their time handling conflicts and its consequences, the current project can make an important contribution. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, the aim is to examine as well as influence gender awareness of conflicts and gender and in collaboration start up transformation processes at workplaces within a compulsory school, an geriatric word and a social service office. The second project is; Interwoven practices? Linking gender equality and diversity with systematic quality work in Swedish compulsory schools. This is a collaborative project within a municipality which is in the process of starting up a new school. Schools are an arena where pupils could be exposed to different types of harassment and bullying whereas action is required by principals. A question is though, how to organize the work with gender-, social- and ethnic equality. However, research in this field has commonly an individual perspective, with focus on the perpetrator and victim or the group they belong to. Therefore the knowledge on what impact organisational factors have is in focus.
