Interwoven practices? Linking gender equality and diversity with systematic quality work in Swedish compulsory schools

Research project The study is a collaborative research project about gender equality and diversity within a municipality, Umeå Kommun, which is in the process of starting up a new school, Maja Beskowsskolan.

Schools are an arena where pupils are exposed to different types of harassment and bullying, whereas action is required by principals. A question is though, how to organize the work with gender-, social- and ethnic equality. However, research in this field has commonly an individual perspective, with focus on the perpetrator and victim or the group they belong to. Therefore the knowledge on what impact organizational factors have is in focus. The overall aim is, with focus on gender-, social- and ethnic equality, to scrutinize what organizational factors that contribute to a healthy work environment for the students.
