Research focus

My research focus is on support structures for change and development, mainly concerning public organizations. My academic roots stem from work and organization psychology, with  a systems perspective. My thesis Navigate in continuous change is written in Swedish, and tells about facilitation of change in health and social services.

Current projects

  • KuRSS The role of regional collaboration and support structures for knowledge governance in social services. Expectations and challenges from a regional perspective. Funded by FORTE, and running 2018 - 2020 with me as PI.
  • Process-supportive evaluation of decision-making and implementation processes for health-promoting community planning. On behalf of the Healthy Cities network and the Public Health Authority, a project is now underway that includes an evaluation of decision-making and implementation processes for health promotion community planning, among member municipalities in the Healthy Cities network. Funded by the Public Health Authority and will run from 2019-2020.
  • Public health work infrastructure - pilot project for methods for coordination of Västerbotten's public health work. The project's mission is to develop approaches and working methods for coordination of a regional work for good and equal public health. The pilot has a sister project in Stockholm and will run from 2019-2020.

Closed projects

  • GINO Innovative capacity in social services - IFO - in sparcely populated areas - how do we use it best? Funded by Vinnova and running 2017 - 2019.  PI at FoU Välfärd, Region Västerbotten.
  • Flexit Support structure in practice . Knowledge building, development work and change in local health and cosial services. Funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond and running 2015-2018. A collaboration between Epdiemiology and Global Health Unit and FoU Välfärd, Region Västerbotten.

Current projects

  • UFU Arena Pilot test of the interactive greenhouse arena "Developing Future Developers" with the aim of increasing the capacity of health and care organizations to pursue innovative development. In progress 2019-2022.

  • IU Norr New ways to support innovative development work in large healthcare organizations. 
  • IU Stödkoncept Increased capacity for innovative development work in community healthcare: development of flexible support concepts 
  • UFU Develope future facilitators! To strengthen strategic development capacity and competence in support fuctions and at management levels in health and social care.

Planning and management in health care, 7.5 credits


The course is a master's and PhD course that provides an overview of various planning and management issues. The following areas are introduced: management and leadership; decision-making and resource management; business and organizational development; quality development and change work; collaboration and communication; work environment and conflict management.
